IP Practitioner-in-Residence Sidney Rosdeitcher: Wednesday, March 25

Sidney Rosdeitcher will be visiting campus on Wednesday, March 25 as part of our IP Practitioner-in-Residence series.

Don’t miss Mr. Rosdeitcher’s talk at 1:15 in Room 125 titled, “Hip Hop in the Supreme Court and the Ups and Downs of a Life in the Law.”  One hour of Indiana CLE credit approved.  Light refreshments will be available.

Mr. Rosdeitcher will also be available in the CIPR offices (304D) for informal meetings with students from 2:30-4:00pm.

A highlight of Mr. Rosdeitcher’s distinguished career was arguing the groundbreaking Campbell v. Acuff-Rose Music Inc. copyright case before the U.S. Supreme Court.  The litigation centered around 2 Live Crew’s parody of Roy Orbison’s classic “Oh, Pretty Woman,” and ultimately established that a commercial parody can qualify as fair use.

Since retirement, Rosdeitcher has won multiple awards for his commitment to pro bono work. Click HERE to read Mr. Rosdeitcher’s biography on his law firm’s website.
