Arpan Banerjee is Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean (Career Development) as well as Executive Director of the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights Studies at the Jindal Global Law School in Delhi, India. Arpan is a graduate of the National University of Juridical Sciences, Calcutta (BA LLB (Hons)) and King’s College, London (LLM). Arpan’s interests lie primarily in the areas of intellectual property law and media and entertainment law. Prior to joining JGLS, Arpan taught as an Assistant Professor at the Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, IIT Kharagpur. Arpan has contributed to leading international journals, and is currently co-authoring the seventh edition of P Narayanan on the Law of Trade Marks and Passing Off, India’s leading treatise on trade mark law. Arpan was a Cegla Scholar at the University of Tel Aviv and was also selected to attend the 10th Colloquium for Teachers of Intellectual Property Law, organised by the World Intellectual Property Organisation and World Trade Organisation in Geneva. Before joining academia, Arpan practised law full-time. He worked on a broad range of intellectual property litigation and prosecution matters, and advised clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small enterprises.
