Center Administrative Director
Casey Nemecek earned her M.A. in History from Indiana University in 2014 and her B.A. in International Studies and Russian Studies from Vassar College in 2010. Casey joined the Center for Intellectual Property Research in July 2015 as our Administrative Assistant. In that role, Casey acted as the coordinator for the Center’s two pro bono services: the Intellectual Property Clinic and PatentConnect.
As the Center’s Administrative Director, Casey serves a variety of functions. She coordinates Intellectual Property Association events in conjunction with student leaders and provides administrative support for the IP Externship program, the IP Moot Court program, and the student staff of the journal IP Theory. Casey coordinates visits of IP practitioners-in-residence as well as conference and event planning for the Center. She also provides administrative oversight for grant funding, sponsorship, donations, and the Center’s general budget. In the role of managing the CIPR’s daily operations, Casey also works with full-time and adjunct faculty affiliated with the Center. She serves as a liaison for collaboration with other law school personnel and oversees communication efforts, including managing the Center’s website and outreach efforts.
Casey moved to Indiana from the east coast for graduate school, and fell in love with all the city of Bloomington has to offer. In additional to providing office support, Casey always has good recommendations for food, activities, and events happening around town!
