Joshua Larsen is a registered patent attorney and an associate in the Intellectual Property Department at Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Indianapolis, Indiana office. He is admitted to practice in the states of Indiana and Illinois, before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Larsen has experience with many computer and network technologies, including drafting numerous patent applications for chipset security features, wireless sensor networks, and semiconductor devices. Mr. Larsen has also represented both patentees and defendants in several patent infringement and false patent marking lawsuits. Mr. Larsen received his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, also earning Order of the Coif honors and a Certificate in Intellectual Property: Patents. While in law school, he was a member of the DePaul Law Review and competed in the 35th Annual Giles S. Rich Memorial Moot Court Competition, where his team placed as national semifinalists and won best brief awards for both appellant and appellee. Mr. Larsen also participated in the Judicial Externship Program, serving as a clerk to the Honorable Amy J. St. Eve of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to becoming a patent attorney, Mr. Larsen received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he specialized in nanoelectronics and both design and fabrication of analog and digital integrated circuits.
