Clinical Professor of Law; Director, Elmore Entrepreneurship Law Clinic
At Indiana Law, Professor Need directs the Elmore Entrepreneurship Law Clinic, a joint venture between the Maurer School of Law and the Kelley School of Business. Professor Need instructs the classroom component of the clinical course. Prior to joining the faculty at Indiana Law, Professor Need spent thirteen years in private practice, representing businesses of all sizes. He spent the last five years of his private practice as a partner at Bose McKinney & Evans in Indianapolis. During those years he represented personal clients with their business needs while also assisting firm clients in a broad range of business litigation areas including employment, regulatory, construction, real estate, and copyright. He is a certified civil mediator as well as an alumnus and current Faculty Director of IU’s joint JD/MBA program. Need, a 2009 recipient of the Trustees Teaching Award at the Law School, has also served as an adjunct professor at the Kelley School of Business, where he received the Excellence in Teaching Award. Professor Need teaches commercial law in the Sungkyunkwan MBA program in Seoul, South Korea.
