Summer Student Spotlights: Garrett Derian-Toth (’21)

This week we feature Garrett Derian-Toth (’21) as part of our IP Summer Spotlight series. Garrett is a rising 2L and the incoming treasurer of the Intellectual Property Association. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Michigan State University and is pursuing a dual J.D. / M.S. in Cybersecurity and Risk Management.

This summer, Garrett is a technology transfer intern at Sandia National Laboratories in the Bay Area and is pursuing a career in patent prosecution. When Garrett is not working, he spends his time hiking through national parks and sampling coffee shops. Feel free to invite Garrett to walk around Indiana University’s campus or grab a cup of coffee if you have any questions about Maurer, intellectual property, or anything else.
