Summer Student Spotlights: Nick Eitsert (’21)

We’re sneaking in one last #IPSummerSpotlight since we’re not quite ready to admit classes have started and summer is over. Meet Nick Eitsert (’21)!

Nick is a second year law student at Maurer, but his connection to the Center for IP Research goes back a few years before his enrollment here. As an electrical engineering student at Purdue University, Nick worked with Professor Don Knebel as a research assistant through Purdue’s VIP program.

This summer, Nick interned at Motorola Solutions where he helped the firm on copyright and patent prosecution matters.

This fall Nick will spend the semester at Jindal University. In addition to taking several classes in intellectual property, Nick will also research rural governance in the region, studying the effects of Indian legislation aimed at improving the lives in rural villages.

Despite the packed schedule, Nick was able to take a few days to soak in the views. Here he is sporting a vintage CIPR tee in the Indian Himalayas, proving that IP is indeed everywhere!
