Summer Student Spotlights: Sarah Kelly ’21

Over the next couple of months, we will be featuring several of our IP students and their summer experiences. First up is our incoming IP Association President Sarah Kelly (’21).

Sarah Kelly is a rising 2L and incoming president of the Intellectual Property Association. She earned her bachelors degree from Tulane University in New Orleans (’13) and her PhD from Michigan State (’18) both in Cell & Molecular Biology, and hopes to pursue a career in patent prosecution after graduation. This summer she is working in Hanoi, Vietnam in the law offices of Tilleke & Gibbins through the Stewart Fellows program. Sarah is currently working in the Intellectual Property Enforcement group at the firm and will also be rotating in the Patent group for the second half of the summer. On the weekends she is enjoying traveling around Southeast Asia with fellow IPA member and IU Stewart Fellow Melanie Magdun. Look out for Sarah at Orientation and feel free to reach out to her about all things IP at Maurer!
