Launch IP-West Lafayette a Success!

On Sept. 14 we celebrated the one-year anniversary of the launch of our IP Pro Bono services– PatentConnect and the IP Clinic– with the help of the USPTO Midwest Regional Office at the Purdue Research Park in West Lafayette.

We’d like to thank Dr. Christal Sheppard and Alford Kindred of the USPTO Midwest Regional Office for traveling to West Lafayette from Detroit to provide an overview of intellectual property and tips on how best to conduct patent and trademark searches.

Thank you to the presenters on our Practical IP Strategies for High Tech Startup Panel: Jamie Drewry (Partner, Faegre Baker Daniels), Eyal Barash (Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, Endocyte), and Bob Jalaie (Senior Patent Attorney, Office of Technology Commercialization, Purdue Research Park).

Thank you also to our Ask-a-Lawyer panel: Brad Maurer (Partner, Bingham Greenebaum Doll & Adjunct Professor of our IP Clinic), Jessica Van Dalen (Associate, Faegre Baker Daniels, Adjuct Professor of our IP Clinic, & volunteer attorney with PatentConnect), and Cedric D’Hue (D’Hue Law & volunteer attorney with PatentConnect).

Finally, thank you to our IP Clinic students–Josh Farrow, Tom Raborg, and Evan Glass– who traveled up from Indiana University Maurer School of Law to talk about the IP Clinic and PatentConnect for Hoosiers!
